Default Tire rotation

Good job. I like to see dudes doing their own car maintenance. Seems like so many people are scared (maybe too lazy?) to do even the most basic stuff by themselves anymore. One thing though, you should never switch a radial tire from one side of the car to the other (that used to be how bias-ply tires were rotated) because if you change the direction the tire rolls in, the belts inside it could separate and cause tire failure.

Do you mean to say "directional" when you say "radial" ?

I heard that probably 20 years ago. Maybe tire technology has changed so that it's no longer a problem. I know directional tires are designated with a direction so that the tread pattern is such that wet weather performance is increased. So 1) maybe you could put a directional tire on "backwards" (eliminating wet weather advantage) but never cross rotate or 2) maybe directional tires imply that cross rotating other types of radials is OK. I think the guy in the video said that Nissan said to not cross rotate...
