Default 2004 G35 Coupe 6MT Transmission and rear axle manual

I tried removing my rear axle last night to fix the click and couldnt figure out if I needed to remove the center axle bolt to remove the rear brake disc. I was surprised that removing the rear brake disc instructions was not included in the brake manual either. I subscribed to the forum and im a little surprised that somthing as seemingly simple as removing the rear axle isnt anywhere to be found. This is especially surprising since everyone has had the rear click noise on their G and has looked for repair manuals. Any help would be great.

What bolt? You don't need to remove any axle bolts.

Just remove the caliper and pull out the brake rotor. The instructions are in the "Brake" (br) section of the service manual.

I would like to see a manual or service procedure that shows how to remove the axles.

It can be difficult to remove the rear rotors the first time.

Make sure the parking brake isn't on.

Thats a positive ghost rider...parking brake was off and the mother f*$%ing thing would not come off....didnt even budge! Believe me the rotor does not come off!! I hit it to all hell...even put some breaker liquid on the rotor where it meets with the hub....I tried for two hours!! What the hell is that little rubber grommet on the disk anyway? I pushed it in and it dissapeared into oblivion. I think I need to put another one in. The important thing is that I have no more click in my axle so im happy about that. But I really want to see a schematic on how my brake system is put together. I would have also liked to see a drivetrain manual but its not available here...

The rubber grommet is to access the parking brake. To remove the rotor you just have to hit it once, very hard, with a regular metal hammer in the center area. Before hiting it, install the lug nuts in case you miss and damage the threads of the whell studs.

You should download the service manual: http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca....php?catid=284

As a subscribed member you can download as many service manuals and bulletins as you want.

Inside the manual look for the sections:

"rax" = Rear Axle
"rsu" = Rear suspension
"br" = Brakes
