Default 2005 G35X fluids

I have an 05 G35X and I am about to get the differential and transfer case fluids changed. I am not taking the car to a dealership, but instead to a good friend of mine who owns a shop in the area. Is there a specific Nissan fluid they should be using?
Also, I have noticed a very slight coolant smell coming from the front of the car (front grille). No leaks or anything, just a very slight odour. Is this normal?

Thanks again!

You'll find all of the recommended fluids in the Maintenance (MA) section of the service manual. You'll find it in the free loose sections for your model and year here:

Yes, you have to use "J" Matic A/T fluid. I suggest getting the fluid from the dealer.

I read the recommended fluids chart (thanks for the link) and It says Nissan fluid or equivalent. I will make sure he uses the correct fluid. I have had some poor experiences with my local dealership, so for fluids and regular service I will take it to a private shop.

Thanks for all the help!
