Question Blower is not working

My 93 J30 blower is not working. I was able to tap on the plastic panel under the glove box near the fire wall and it came on and the heater worked and the air conditioner came on but it went off again after I turned the car off. I have tried to tap the area again and it has worked like that twice in 2 months but not every time I try the tapping. It is getting hot here in Texas and I need to repair it. What could the issue be?

Sounds like you are having problem with the fan control amplifier. The amp is next to the blower motor. To access the amp you need to remove the glove box.

I have removed the glove box and I have looked at the schematic and I have located the the fan control amplifier.I was also trying to figure out what the large black box is behind the sunload sensor and the intake sensor. I noticed that there is a small crack in it. It rained the other day and there was a wet spot in my floorboard underneath it. So I looked at the area above it and noticed it. What might this wet spot be from? What is the lg black box? Thank you for your help.

Default I repaired it

I tried the fan amplifier and that was not it.(They tried it at the salvage yard first before I bought it) I bought a blower for 40.00 and installed it. I have no experience. It worked like new and just in time for the high 90s this week. Whew!
Thanks to those that helped.

Thanks for letting us know. $40 was a very good price for the blower motor.
