Default Chronic Low Tire Pressure Warning

Hello, Does anyone have a comment on this: Recently, my 2003 Q45 started doing this. Every time, after starting and driving a few miles, the tire warning light comes on and the display also shows a tire pressure warning message. But the audio alarm does NOT sound. I've checked each tire and have about 34 pounds all around. This problem is consistent. It happens everytime after I drive a few miles. Before the warning light comes on, I can see the four different tire pressures in the display. Afterward, I just get asterisks (*). If I restart the engine, everything goes back to normal, that is, until I drive a few more miles. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what is the problem, but the first thing I suggest doing is setting the tire pressure at 32 psi before start driving. Make sure the tire pressure gauge you are using it's properly adjust. Higher than normal tire pressure can give you the same symptom as you described. If that doesn't resolved the problem, have the dealer reprogram all sensor for you.

Thanks, I'll do that and see what happens. I did notice that, when hot, two of the tires registered 38 pounds while the other two were 35 and 36.

Yeah, definitely take the air down to 32psi and be sure to check it with a gauge that you know is accurate. Its likely that doing so could solve your problem. If not, then like IE said, take it in to get the sensors reset. An independent tire shop would be a much better idea vs. the dealership b/c the price difference will be noticeable to say the least. Good luck and let us know what ends up happening.

OK I adjusted the tire pressures to 32 pounds cold. It still gives me the two warnings (light and display) after I drive maybe 8 or 9 miles, more or less. The displayed message is "WARNING - TIRE PRESSURE - If the light comes on while the engine is running it may indicate that the Low Tire Pressure Warning System is not functioning properly. Have the system checked by an authorized Infiniti dealer." Guess I'll go to a tire shop and have the sensors reset, like you recommended, and see what happens. Thanks for you help. I really-really appreciate it.
