Gilley: reason I ask is I think I have a slight clunking coming from the back but I THINK it's when I let off the brake kind of abruptly, like say if I'm taking a corner kind of fast and I brake, then let off. Not sure, though. I have to do some more observing to see when it happens. I'm an aggressive driver so I have to see when it replicates.

Could be end links, a spring, shock, or a brake component. Check to make sure nothing is loose in the spare tire or jack area.

Good for you for being an aggressive driver. You're driving a 4 door Z.

This may be a late reply but this happened to my '06 G35X and it was sway bar links. Replaced under warranty.

I keep hearing this same noise and my regular mechanic told me that the sway bar links need to be replaced and I have taken my car to the dealer a few times for this and they keep saying its nothing. Everything is fine. What should I do ? I know there is a problem. The dealer doesn't let me speak to the mechanic's directly they always say they are busy and the car is fine. I have the extended warranty.

Ask the service rep to go for a ride with you to try to reproduce the noise.
