Hi,
Today I had the Kendwood KOS-A200 Media Controller installed by a local car install shop on my 2004 G35 Sedan, but now the climate control FAN speed is on high no matter what temp is selected in the car. This installation involved ripping the car apart to get to the back of the stereo. I tried turning the climate control off/on, changing to different climate modes, but nothing seems to work. Now I have to manually set the fan speed to low until I can have this resolved. Also the light to the analog clock isn't on like it usually is. Any ideas on what could be causing the fan speed to remain on high and the light for the clock to be off? Perhaps a sensor not being connected? Thanks for your help in advance! -A Last edited by mast3rw3b; 04-04-2009 at 10:58 AM. Reason: typo |

Since the HVAC is tied to the Bose head unit through controls, that's the first place I would look. The clock light is suspicious though, unless the head unit and the clock are on the same circuit.
Take it back to the car audio shop and complain. There's an obvious correlation here. I have a sneaking suspicion the Kenwood unit is interfering with the Bose unit in a bad way and may not be compatible. |

Fan speed limited to high only is almost always a blower motor resistor.....however, you say that you can manually lower it. That, in conjunction with your other issue would make me take that right back to where the radio modification was done and have them make it right.
Good luck... Mike |

Thanks for the replies guys, the mod that was done was adding this wired fm tranmitter directly to the stock antenna and the installer also spliced the power into the back on the stock deck from what he told me. I'm hoping it's something simple, perhaps he forgot to plug something back into the stock deck. I'll be back there tomorrow (Monday) morning so I'll let you guys know what happens.
Thanks, -A |

He may not have completely plugged in the ribbon cable from the radio/AC circuit board to the radio faceplate.

UPDATE:
The climate control problem was caused by the sensor down under the steering wheel on the right not being connected. So now with it connected, that's back to normal. The clock problem was caused by one of the clock bulbs being burnt out. I called my local Infiniti dealer and they wanted $54 for a pair which I thought is ridiculous. Does anyone know what the part number for this is? Is there anywhere else I can get these bulbs for cheaper? Thanks, -A |

Introducing the ![]() 30% brighter than regular Neo - Wedge LED Instrument Panel Bulbs Type A, B & C (Note to choose the correct bulb, measure the diameter of the base) Type B (T4) is what I need. The colors are Blue, Super White, Red, Amber, Green, and UV, any suggestions on what color I should go with? Thanks, -A |

I'd keep it amber to match the rest of the gauges. Any other color and it'll stick out like a sore thumb (to me).

Also keep in mind that the viewing angle of an LED is much less than that of an incandescent bulb. If you replace the bulb with an LED style, the illumination of the clock may be inconsistent.
