I purchased a new 2008 QX56 a month ago and had my first opportunity to ride as a passenger in the front seat. I had noticed engine roar as the driver but sort of said to myself "Peppy engine , just don't get down on it so hard". Today I had a chance to ride as a passenger with my wife driving. Not only did I hear engine roar, I felt vibration thru the floor board and seat. It is shameful to say, but I only took a short ride in the car before purchasing as I knew what vehicle I wanted and read bunches of owner reviews, which resulted in a very high percentage of owner satisfaction.
Is this noise inherent in all QX56s , will it go away in time or am I in for owning a car that I love to drive, but will have to learn to put up with the sports car sound and feel? I own a GMC Yukon (1998) bought new ,with 100,000 miles on it ,that is very quiet in comparison to this car. |

The noise will settle a bit but it wont go away completely, that's the way the engine is design.

DId you ever find a solution to the engine vibration? I find it hard to beleive that Infiniti would accept this design characteristic and the irritation customers experience without develping a solution? Inifini expert is there a fix yet, how about an aftermarket fix?

I've noticed that vibration increases with the 4wd selector in Auto and apposed to 2wd.
Either doesn't really bother me. I believe it has an exhaust harmonic as the baseline with a drivetrane vibration thrown. |
