Default First impressions G 37 S Convertible

All I can say is Wow!
Picked up the new car July 24th, a beautiful day, and spent the first 2 hours with the salesman. Needless to say it took all I had not to kick him out of my car and take it for a spin. I curbed my impatience and went through most of the features, I know he meant well, but I had downloaded the owner's manual the previous week and had read it twice, as well as the GPS instructions so I probably knew more than he did.
Anyway, the car handles fantastically, as I'm sure you all know, and looks very good to boot.
Last week we took off to Seattle via Osoyoos (Southern BC) and through the North Cascade loop on hwy 20. I wanted twisties to test the handling and I can report that Infiniti uses crazy glue on the tires because no matter how fast I took the curves, the car never deviated from the line I had picked. Very impressive and also reassuring as we encountered rain on the Western slopes of the cascades. Living in Calgary I'm a bit apprehensive about winter driving but will shop for snow tires.
In Seattle we picked up the back divider screen which dampens down the wind a lot and helps keep our stuff on the back seat from flying away.
A big scare between Seattle and Tacoma on the I-5, a broad in a Benz decided to move to the HOV lane which I was occupying. She never even looked but just veered into my lane, my wife screamed and I immediately hit the brakes and the clutch with all the force of my 220 lbs body while steering onto the shoulder. Thank god for the Infiniti engineers, the car stayed absolutely straight as an arrow with 2 wheels on the gravel and the other 2 on the shoulder. The ABS racket scared me more than the potential accident; it was so loud I couldn't tell if the bimbo had actually scraped the right side of the car. I asked my wife to open the window and look, as I was accelerating after the Benz, she, can you believe it, refused to hang her head out the window fearing some other mishap.
Anyway to make a long story short there was no damage to the car and I now understand why you Americans insist on carrying guns!
More and pictures later.

Nice report CW. I've never driven highway 20 but really enjoy highway 2 south of there. Washington state has some great highways if you stay off the interstate.

Us Canadians don't carry guns but I do keep a few snowballs in a cooler on the backseat.

G Convertible is way better than BMW 335 hardtop, Lexus hard top in price, looks, tech stuff and performance. Stay tunned... mine is on the way ....

Osoyoos...beautiful lake there. Great wine country. Glad mishap wasn't worse. Back divider screen works wonders. Have the same on my wifes 2008 EOS. Bet you get looks when you activate the convertible, my wife sure does. It's like a go-go-gadget mobile haha. Gun...nah illegal but a flying loose brick isn't...ha!
