The front breaks on my 08 QX56 started to rattle this summer when I passed over bumps. I had them serviced in September. Infiniti service found that the front pads had excessive movement and that there was not enough lubricant on the brake pad hardware. They reserviced the breaks and the noise was gone. Now one month later the same problem is back. I will be bringing it in to have it reserviced again. Anyone else having similar problems?

They also replaced the bushings. I am fairly certain it is the brakes as the rattle stops when I apply the brakes. It is interesting that you mention the bushings as these have been a chronic problem. Every 3 to 4 months the bushings fail and I have to get them replaced. When the bushings are shot the front end will moan or creak when you hit a dip in the road. I will also have them look at the bushings as well. Thanks.

I was driving around town with the windows opened and I noticed the sound of rattling brake pads. I always heard this sound with the windows opened but didn't pay to much attention.
I too verified the pads by applying the brakes very lightly. I'm kinda glad it's the brake pads and not some body part shaking loose. |
