I've heard similar complaints-altho very rarely. Don't know why? It's the dealer's problem not yours; unless your precious little one has been picking @ it w/his new Buck knife!

Once again I agree with Antz (sheesh - twice in one day). Get the problem solved at your dealership.

Whoa! This is a moment for very serious contemplation. Twice in one day? This could be more serious and communicable than the swine flu.

As long as the car is under warranty, don't worry what the cause or fix is. Let the dealer take care of it.

Default Trim affected by heat?

Our M45 trim on the passenger door came unglued when the car was only a month old. We had had a period of very hot (~100 F) temperatures. I suspect that may have contributed to it. The dealer replaced the piece with no question whatsoever.

As I take delivery of my 06 M35x later this week, I am trying to gain some information. Mine is 4 years old, I did not notice any separation or delamination of any wood. So, can anyone put a photo up or explain what one might look for on this topic?

Default It'll be obvious if you have problem.

The wood is a very thin veneer over plastic or metal. When ours popped off it sort of "sprung," with several inches sticking up and threatening to catch on something and get bent or broken. The dealer removed it and installed a new piece very quickly. If the car were 10 years old I might try glueing a piece back on, but not when its relatively new like yours.

Thanks - I guess I was wondering if this was a problem manifested in age or perhaps just a poor batch of veneer or glue or something like that.
