Default Mysterious hiccup in G35 Sedan Help!

I have this mysterious, random hiccup that happens when I accelerate in my 03 G35 sedan. I already had a transmission flush, but it didn't help. It's like it skips a beat, I don't know if it's slippage in the transmission because it's very random and hard to repeat consistently. It happens only sometime when I accelerate between 30 and 45 MPH between 1.5 and 3 RPM's. Can anyone help me solve this mystery?

Your symptoms sound quite consistent with a misfire. When is the last time the car had a tune up and how many miles are on it? You might to add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank to see if that helps at all. You should also pull the spark plugs to see if they show signs of significant wear, or just go ahead and replace them. Of course part of the tune up would include a new fuel filter. You might also find a faulty ignition coil, but it really sounds like a misfire based on your description.

Default Hey

You know thanks for your input, but I don't think it's a misfire because my RPM's don't go down, and I don't hear anything wrong with the engine, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the transmission.

I saw a TSB for a shutter at 40mph under slight acceleration/load. Might want to take a look at it and see if it sounds like your issue.

Sounds like l have the same problem ('03 G35, 50K miles). I never noticed the rpm, but it definitely seems like a trans shutter. Minor and very seldom, but it happens. Will be interested in the service bulletin.
