Hey guys, I just got my kenwood dnx 9140 and and jdm double din kit. I plan on installing it myself but I have a few questions.

What kind of wire harness would I need for the installation? I want to keep my factory amp and sub after install.

I found a "Amplifier Integration Harness for Select Infiniti Vehicles" here, so now my question is... do i need another harness that would connect the speakers and everything else with the radio? like this one here

How easy is it for me to do this myself? taking out the radio and all i've done before. But connecting the wires together shouldn't be all that complicated?

I've installed a radio before on my 96 buick which didn't have a premium sound system. The only thing Im unsure of is how to do the amp turn on when installing a new deck on a bose sound system.

Also, what would u guys recommend I use to cover a small gap at the bottom of the DD opening.

Thanks in advance

To connect your Bose system to your new DD radio, you'll need the first harness, the 70-7551. Plug the RCA pig tails into the appropriate front or rear RCA jacks on the new HU.

Be sure that you connect the power antenna wire for your new HU. Even though the G doesn't have a power antenna, there is a powered antenna booster that needs to be powered.

The Bose amp will receive its turn on signal from the new HU.

You'll also need a Nissan diversity antenna adapter and if you want your steering wheel controls to work, you need the PAC-Audio PAC-JACK steering wheel interface.

To install the DD HU, you need the JDM DD trim piece and the JDM AC controller. JDM = Japanese Domestic Market. You can get those parts from several online sellers.

thanks for the reply gilley, i just ordered that harness and a antenna adapter. as soon as they come ill begin and show off some pics of the kenwood. Its actually smaller than what i expected it to be.

I just hope all the wires and additions will fit in the back of the new HU.

So you have the DD trim piece and AC controller?

There is a good amount of room beneath the HU / behind the ashtray.

yeahh I bought the DD trim piece and AC controller off ebay for about 270 with $15 shipping... kinda pricey butt ehh what can you do right?

just waiting for the harness to come by the mail. Can't wait to install this. I figured it'll be alittle tougher to install compared to the pioneer screens since the kenwood screen is motorized and tilts, so it won't really be a perfect fit but ill have all the time in the world to make it just right ;)

hey I know this is kinda of a newbie question, but when i finish my new HU install, will I still have my factor sub? on the kenwood harness, theres a rca cable for the subwoofer which i'll have to leave empty because i dont have any other cable to plug that into.

also, for the steering wheel controls, the manual tells me to ground the yellow wire(on pin 23) from the car's harness. So my question is, do i cut the yellow wire from the plug and ground it?

thanks

If you use the Bose amp, you will only connect the front and rear RCA connections on the Kenwood. You will still have the Bose subs.

You need the PAC-JACK to control the radio from the steering wheel.

You do have to ground a couple of wires with he PAC-JACK. If I recall correctly, the only wires you have to cut are the steering control wheels from the car's harness. Two of those wires are connected to resistors.
