Yikes... maybe my 'internal pricing' on my 100k mile check up wasn't actually a good deal. I got an oil/filter change, tranny flush, rad flush, fuel induction cleansed, rotate/balanced tires, new spark plugs, new interior and engine air filters. All of the above work was $600 after tax. Then my MAF sensor was failing - $300 to get that installed. They're saying motor mounts have some 'play' in them - $800 for those. Any ideas what an independent shop might charge for new motor mounts?

100K check up: doesn't sound too bad IF they did everything they said they did; however, most of the work you could have definitely done yourself, even with limited skills and tools - like me!!
MAF sensor: If the $300.00 includes parts and labor, not too bad, but again, you could have installed the MAF yourself in just a few minutes, easily.
Motor mounts: My local independent guy at Network Alignment and Brakes in Gilbert, AZ, who I have used for over 10 years for various services on all my toys and totally trust, quoted me 1.3 hrs of labor at $78.00 per hour = $101.40 each mount. But, one of the guys (who shall remain nameless here for obvious reasons) kind of looked at me cross-eyed and told me how easy it was and to do it myself and save some $$$. I did, and dropped off a few pizzas and a case of beer for the guys one a Friday at closing time!!
EDITORIAL: Although, Infinitis are generally great cars, the thing to remember is that there's no magic or mystery to their design. I bought into all the "hoopla" when I purchased my I30. I let myself get taken to the cleaners more times than I care to admit, and just got fed up with it. That's definitely over! With the help from friends and the folks on this board, I'm going to keep my I30 going for a long, long time at reasonable cost!!

Over 150, 000 Miles Happy and Movin' On!!
