I know you guys helped me before. My daughters 2007 honda civic coupe rear axel just sheared off at the wheel. Thank god she is ok the car is another story. She was on a major highway and went spinning out of control. I have pics I can post, but it's really wierd. The wheel still had the lugnuts attached but the rear axel sheared in front of the brakes. I just had new tires put on. since the lug nuts were attached I am assuming that even over tightening didn't cause this. Any idea's? You guys are my buds and I didn't know where else to go. Everyone I talk to can't believe it.

Very strange. I had an axle on a Ford Diesel cube van shear off inside the casing. I think it was caused by heat from a blown bearing but who knows.
Since it's an 07 can we assume that Honda will be looking at it?

as it turns out Honda had a recall for the rear wheel bearings. Unfortunately it didn't help my daughters crash on a major expressway.
