Well, I picked my car up from the dealer - Infiniti of Mobile (AL) - on Saturday. Car was ready and waiting as they promised. They changed the CD player because it wouldn't eject discs everytime. The new one blew up about 10 minutes down the road - service department was closed so there was no use turning around. Now all it says is Press Eject. Only button that works in CD mode is the On/Off button. Radio still works. So, back it will go probably Thursday if they get my replacement in. EVerything else appears to be fixed. Am I the only one very, very leary of anything with the word Bose on it??? Their home audio is an absolute joke!

One other thing. I bought the Infiniti floor mats from the dealer: $126 + tax = $137. The mats are the thinnest, sorriest mats I've ever owned. My Mazda6 mats were MUCH nicer. Even my Durango mats are plush by comparison. No logo, lettering, or anything. They were in an Infiniti box, but they feel like they came from AutoZone. I'll never buy INfiniti mats again!

So my wife drove it to work yesterday and she's working back-to-back nights (nurse) and staying with a friend since she works about 70 miles away. So, I haven't seen my car since Sunday basically. But the new v7.4 navigation disc finally arrived. And I have 5qts of Mobil1 and a K&N filter ready to go in this weekend. And a fresh buffer pad for its wash and wax.

It will be nice to actually settle in to life with my car someday finally all repaired and put together. OH, someday...

Congrats on the new G.

Sorry for the delay, but the sedan mats are different. I guess it's too late now.

The Bose head unit is actually a Clarion unit with a Bose amp and speakers. Reliability of the head unit is not what it should be. Good for you that it's covered under the basic 4 year/60K mile warranty.

You can also install an aftermarket double DIN head unit if you want to. There are OEM parts available.

Well, hopefully, the saga has ended. The navigation disc, v7.4, arrived yesterday and is now operational in the car. And the head unit was changed out today. I watched him do the job out of my own curiosity. Interesting how the whole frickin' dash arrangement comes out as one unit. btw, a refurbished 6 disc changer: about $350. New: about $1200!!! He said this was about the most common work they do on G35's.

I even finally got it registered today and the plate put on. Well, Florida, that $1590 is on me. What else could I have possibly done with it???

Did you push for a new one this time (I would've) being no doubt the first replacement put in was a refub which failed 10 min down the road.

Wow that's a lot of $$ for reg, plates and tags.

Time to get AAA Plus. You'll have to wait 3 days to get it towed though.

Don't know where you got the mats but they don't appear to be Infinity. I had my Toyota dealership put new ones in my 03 and they were $307 (not my cost) and had the Infinity logo on them. They are thick and plush. I had a similar problem with the CD player giving failure codes and not ejecting the discs. The dealership also had to put in a new player which is made by Clarion as Gilley mentions and I have not had a problem with it for more than 3 years now. The Bose is just the amp section of the unit.
