Power seat problem: only one side moves

Will the seat motor for a 2004 G35 fit on my 2005 G?

My gear is the piece that's gone bad...so I was hoping to buy the entire seat for $100 and take the gear off and put it on my passenger seat. The shop I took it too yesterday was able to move the motor from the passenger side to the driver side, so at least the important seat was working.

I'm in Texas. I've found a seat from an 04. Car is at the dealership awaiting an "official" report that consumer affairs needs. Will update you later today.

So the entire motor is gone and it requires essentially an entire bottom of the seat, including the airbag component. Price tag: $2895! Have a call into consumer affairs and explained to them as a loyal Infiniti buyer (this is our 4th one), I don't expect something like this to breakdown with less than 70k on the car. Any other suggestions as to how I can get consumer affairs to pay for this?

yes they are reviewing my case. waiting for a call back today. Can't see them approving a $2895 repair bill tho, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Infiniti is investigating my case on the seat. The one thing going for me is the dealership knows me really well....and this is our 4th infiniti!
