Default radar detector

I know the g37 is limited to <155 mph but does anyone use one of those new fancy radar detectors? If so--- which one do you recommend?

I use the Beltronics detectors in all my cars. I have two 995s and an RX65. Beltonics makes more advanced detectors than these. One has GPS built into it.

I use a passport solo in mine but the alarm is a little low on volume. Next time out I'd probably get the 8500. I think the GPS function of detectors like Gilley's is pretty good at removing false alarm locations. I've never used one but heard very good things about the Valentine 1 detector as well.

I was thinking about the escort 9500ci (concealed unit) with LASER shifter. Has anyone any experience with this unit?

You'll find some great reviews and comparisons on this radar detector site:

Default Radar Detector

Radar detectors don't do much good. I see people stopped all the time with every brand under the sun.

RADAR Detectors Do Work

Not that I intentionally speed, but I own an older Escort 7500 and indeed the unit gives marginal warning that laser, and all the other bands of RADAR are present. It gives me sufficient time to slow down, where indeed I would have been ticketed without the unit. I am also in the market for a new detector and I found the following site helpful; http://www.radarroy.com/ RadarRoy has some interesting readings. I will be looking for the unit that warns one of the traffic light cameras. Any feedback on these units?

after much research I ended up with passport 2500ci (with GPS)--- this unit does everything and can be up-dated easily.
