Hi all:
I am new to this so I hope I am doing this right. One on my Xenon headlight went out (2000 Q45 with 158K miles). After getting a quote from the dealer of $186 per light plus labor for replacement and the recommendation of replacing both at the same time, I decided to do it my self (with the help of my brother who is way more mechanically inclined than I am). All went well with the replacement but forgot to reconnect the sensor on the air cleaner cover (which needed to be removed to gain access to the rear of the driver's side headlamp). Started the car and the SES light came on. Now -- here is the million dollar question -- Is there any way to reset this light other than going to the dealer? Will it go off on it own given time/mileage? If so how much time/mileage? Thanks, Brian Last edited by mrbroche; 09-02-2009 at 03:31 PM. |

Sometimes the check engine light goes off by disconnecting the battery overnight. Sometimes you have to get the code read by an OBD II code reader at the auto parts store. However, the auto parts stores are becoming more reluctant to reset codes you people, so that may not be of any help to you.
