I currently own my second G35 coupe with barely 35k. I bought it with only 15k miles last July, so i did not see a need for an extended warranty. The first one I never had a single problem with and had much higher miles. I love my car and do not want to get rid of it but it is not under warranty and i would like to try to avoid bringing the car to the dealer or any other shop to fix if i can to save money.
The first problem i started to notice was with the passenger door lock. it does not lock or unlock with the remote or with the switches inside the car. You have to physically push the mechanism with your finger to lock and unlock the door. I was told this is the door lock actuator but have been quoted no lower than $350 to fix. Then the passenger window started acting up by going down a few inches on its own upon closing. When opening the door, instead of rolling down 1/2" or so and back up when closing it rolls down about 3 inches and does not move back up again when closing the door. Each opening and closing of the door brings the window down further and further until i have to use the switch to bring it back up. Also, the window will not move at all if the door is open. It will go "auto down" with one press but once down you have to hold the switch the whole way up. I saw reprogramming instructions online for this issue but i dont think that will solve my problem. My latest problem is with the inaccurate fuel tank reading. I will fill the gas tank all the way but will only get a reading of about 3/4 full. While driving, the gauge will rapidly go down. For example if i fill the tank and drive about 20 miles, it will show that ive used about 1/4 of a tank when in reality ive used about a gallon. Then the gas light comes on and reads below empty when i still have quite a bit left. I was told this problem is due to the fuel level sending unit being either dirty or no good. Does anyone know where the fuel pump is located? Im really sick of basing my fill ups on miles driven. LOL Someone please help as im starting to get frustrated. |

1. The actuator sounds like the correct diagnosis and the price is right.
2. You need to reset the window motor. There is a bulletin for that problem, go to the 2004 G Coupe bulletin list: http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca...s.php?catid=82 Keyword Filter: "window" 3. Usually the problem is the fuel level sender unit, the problem is that there are two sender unit and finding the bad one is not easy. Quote:
