TCS/ABS TRAC Light then kills while driving

My 2002 Q 45 TCS/ABS TRAC light comes on while driving and then the car just stalls out while driving. It starts after about five min. but does it later while driving again. Please help.

Before replacing any parts, start by getting the ABS code. When the light is ON you need to drive (without turning off the engine) to the dealer or any shop with a scanner and have them check the ABS code.

I found that the shroud containg the mas air flow sensor has a three inch split about two inches before the sensor. could this be the problem. too much air.

It's possible, but unlikely, since problems like that usually triggers the engine light and not the VDC/ABS lights.
