unusual problem and looking for help. In reverse (manual 6 speed transmission) the car has jammed to a sudden stop with the gear shift completely and firmly locked into position. Not resolved by putting in clutch pedal. Only big time pressure finally frees stick to neutral. No problem in forward gears. This has happened four times always when backing slowly into a parking space or out of the driveway--- and the Infiniti dealer says they can't "duplicate" the problem (of course--- it doesn't happen except once in a while)..... anyone have any ideas?

Is it possible to have a worn clutch in a new car with less than 5000 miles? I've had stick shift cars all my adult life so I'm not a novice at shifting--- although I drive too fast and like to do jack rabbit starts and go up quickly through the gears?

No but you could have an internal problem possibly syncros. Start tracking when the problem occurs IE when it's cold or after driving a while. This may give the dlr an idea of how to recreate the problem and what might be causing it.
