Default Warranty recommendations?

Hi all! This is a great forum, very knowledgeable people and civil too.

I'm here because I just purchased a very silver (what does Infinity call this color?) 2006 G35 sedan. I got rid of a 2007 Hyundai Azera and I feel like I just shed a big ol tumor. What a cow that was. With the G35, the fun factor went up about 99% (not to mention the peace-of-mind factor).

I know the factory warranty will be up soon so can anyone recommend a good extended warranty company?

Thank you and congratulation on your G35.

Extended warranty? I suggest the factory extended warranty, I think you can get it at your local Infiniti dealer.

If you want an extended warranty, either get the Infiniti warranty, as Infinitiexpert suggested, or go through your auto insurance company if they have one. Too many other companies are fly by night and may not be around if you need them or they may not cover the repair as they should.

You might consider putting the money for the extended warranty in a separate bank account and use it for a raint day. I don't think most people get their money's worth from an extended warranty. The G is fairly reliable.

Welcome. Yes one of the more civil ones for sure.

Color is called Brilliant Silver.

Infiniti extended warranty is a great option if you don't mind paying for it. You still get all the goodies like Infiniti paying for your flatbed towing (no matter where you break down) and they'll even cover room and board if you're interrupted on vacation, and the nearest dealer will give you a loaner. Not only that but it's a bumper-to-bumper warranty so any rattles, squeaks, dead radios, etc. are fixed at the dealer free of charge.

I think it's worth it personally. Even though these cars are exceptionally reliable, repairs are expensive if something serious breaks.

After more extensive research, I'm seeing that after market "service contracts" are risky business in many ways. I didn't think to ask my insurance company...good suggestion! I've also read that a good source could be the credit union.

Squirreling away the money is also a good suggestion.

I think I'll wait and find out just how much is remaining on the factory warranty. There should be 6-12 months left.

Infiniti EW sounds like the best option albeit an expensive one. I'll try shopping it when the time is right.

Ask the dealer to run the VIN and tell you when the car was in service (first sold) which starts the warranty clock. Also get a copy of the service records.

The basic warranty is 4 years/60K miles, whichever is first, with a 6 years/70K powertrain warranty.
