Welcome! I also went from a Hyundai (Elantra) to a silver '06 G35X. good pick! I got the Infiniti extended warranty when I bought mine used in January. Haven't had to use it yet. Glad I have it though!
Enjoy your new baby! |

There is an Infiniti dealer about a mile from my house. As soon as I get my permanent plates, I swing by there and have them take a look at it.

I don't know about your experience with Hyundai but I can't tell you how happy I am to be rid of my Azera. Over the two years I had it, I really grew to despise it and the company. It was my first and last Hyundai. I'm really digging the G35 so far. It is great fun to drive with a modicum of comfort and class. There are a few things I'd change if I had my druthers but nothing I can't live with. |

Gilley, that's exactly what I did when I got my car, went to the dealership and printed out the service history. By now the service history is much longer (from my rattles warranty work and radio replacement) but it's good to have.
I like my dealership but the Honda dealership north of here treated me better. One day I wandered into the service bays looking for a wiring diagram for an old accord hatchback. They had me walk around with their master tech and he dug up an 800 page shop manual for that car, even found the pages I needed, scanned them and emailed them to me in pdf format. I call that exceptional service and I wasn't even spending money there that day, other than to order new floor mats. Overall I'd say Infiniti dealers vary in quality (at least attention to detail). They are all good but some are much better than others, and it might have something to do with their service volume. The shop floor impresses me though, very clean and well-lit and all the techs wear gloves, and change their gloves when going from under-hood to interior. It's like a surgical operation for those guys. /ramble off |

I went to a dealer near my home today and got the service records for my 06' G35 which I bought 3 wks. ago. It turns out that the original owner had all the service done at this particular dealer and stayed on top of it. The record showed one fix for the A/C.
At 29K, he had the "premium" 30K service performed (drive belts and all!) plus front brakes and tires and an alignment. The service dude said that the guy had it "reconed" for trade and probably spent around $1700+. It had 31K when I bought it. While I was at the dealer, we noticed a spot on the rear quarter where the clear coat was flaking. It appears that there had been some body work that carfax didn't catch. The color is a perfect match but if you look hard enough you can tell that the orange peel is ever so slightly different than factory. I called the Lexus dealer where I bought the car and they are going to look at it for me tomorrow and hopefully do something about it. None-the-less, the car is running beautifully and looks great. I'm a happy mofo'. |

I am shopping for an 06 GSX and getting widely different info from each dealership. How much should an extended warranty cost me. Seems like they will charge as much as they can get.
I am being told that they do not do CPO because it is cheaper to get an extended warranty. What is the difference assuming the length is the same. |

When I bought my sedan, I had the option to get it CPO certified for an extra $900. I declined.
