xm radio Blues...

Hello.. I have a 2004 G35 coupe with the factory xm radio. It worked fine than it went out and all it says is "no signal". I checked the antenna and all wiring and it's fine. So I figured it had to be the xm tuner so I bought a brand new one from the dealer and it still says no signal. Radio and cd's work fine. Now I'm at a loss...Does any one have a clue? Thanks to all..

I bet you paid dearly for the replacement unit from the dealer.

The display will read "antenna" is no antenna is detected by the tuner. "No signal" usually means that the tuner isn't getting a signal from the antenna.

See if you can try a different antenna. If your unit has an antenna splitter (two connections on one ent to the tuner and one to the antenna on the toher end) then that may also be defective.

When I unplugged the antenna wires the deck would show "antenna" and when I plugged it back in it showed "no signal". Yes i did pay dearly and it was just as bad when it still didn't work...

Are you sure your subscription is still current?

That was the first thing that I checked! I have xm in both my cars on the same account and my maxima works fine. I did call them to make sure anyway.

Subscription was my thought too, but not the case. Perhaps now you need to activate/register tuner (being it's a new one) to your active XM account subscription service.

Since it is a new tuner the code was different and I had to call them to give the new code. I'm going to try another antenna although I don't see how it could go out. Wires weren't broken or anything like that.
