2004-2010 INFINITI QX56; WINDSHIELD SERVICE INFORMATION
When a windshield is being installed in a 2004 - 2010 QX56, the glass primer has to dry (properly flash) for at least three (3) minutes. If the primer is misapplied and touches the PVC carrier of the windshield molding AND is not properly flashed, the molding can become bonded to the glass. With this condition and during extreme temperatures, the molding expands and contracts, resulting in “spalling” (etching/peeling away of glass layers). This can result in windshield cracks over time.
